Learning to Fly
Have you ever heard how a mother eagle teaches her baby eaglets to fly? When they are small, they stay in the nest where it's warm, soft, and comfortable. All day long, the little eaglets just sing and play without a care in the world. But when they get a little older, the mother eagle will grab one of the eaglets in her claws and take it way up in the air. The little eaglet loves soaring in the air with its mother, relaxing and seeing all the beautiful sights. But right about that time, the momma eagle opens her claws and drops that baby. It starts heading toward the ground at 90 miles per hour. I'm sure that baby eagle thinks, "Mother, have you lost your mind!? Are you trying to kill me!? Don't you love me anymore? Have you abandoned me? But right before that little eaglet hits the ground, the mother swoops down and grabs it. The little baby says, "Oh, thank you so much, Mother. Now take me back to the nest where it's warm and comfortable, and I don't have this stress and all these challenges. But what does the mother eagle do? She takes it right back up in the air and drops it again and again until finally that little eaglet begins to flap its wings. That eaglet discovers something on the inside that he didn't know he had. He starts flapping and flapping, and before long, he knows how to fly. He's soaring all through the air saying to himself, "This is what I was created to be.
In the same way, sometimes in life it feels like God has dropped us. It feels like we've been abandoned. We think, "I've never had so many problems. Why did this business partner leave? Why did this person lie about me? Why did I go through this loss? God, I was so much more comfortable before. But God has not abandoned you. He's not going to let you hit the ground. He's got His eyes on you. He knows that before long, just like that little eaglet stretches its wings, you are going to start stretching your faith. You're going to step into a new confidence. You're going to discover wings that you didn't know you had. You're going to overcome obstacles that looked insurmountable. It may seem like you took a step backwards. It may be uncomfortable, but because you have stayed in faith, that pruning is leading to blooming. You're becoming stronger. You're becoming more confident. You're experiencing increase and favor. You are learning to fly!
Today, if you feel like you're falling, remember that God Almighty has His hand on you! He will never leave you. He will never let you fall. I love what it says in Isaiah 40:31 that "those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like the eagles. Stretch your faith with confidence because you are learning to fly. You are being strengthened, and you will rise higher and higher above every obstacle into the life of blessing He has in store for you!

Lesson from Flies
If you go to the banks of the little stream, and watch the flies that come to bathe in it, you will notice that while they plunge their bodies in the water, they keep their wings high out of the water. After swimming about a little while, they come out of water and fly away with their wings which are not wet through the sunny air. As the wings are above water, they are dry and light as ever.
Now this is a lesson for us. When we are in the world, we are immersed in the cares of this world. We are not like the flies which keep the wings above water. We worry a lot. But if we keep the wings of our soul, our faith, and our love, out of the world , we may be ready to take our flight to Heaven. For this, we should put our trust in God. Carrying our cares, stresses and daily struggles by ourselves, show that we have not trusted God fully in our lives.Jesus Christ tells us not to worry about our needs which He promises to supply. Worry damages our health, consumes our thought, disrupts productivity, reduces our ability to trust God. It takes humility, however, to recognise that God cares, to admit our needs, and let God to help us. We needn’t bear our struggles but He will bear it. So let us not submit to circumstances, but to the Lord who controls circumstances.

Christ the Strong Rock
Freddy met his friend Jacob after many years. They went to a seashore and sitting on a rock, they had a good chat about their college days. The waves dashed against the rock and enjoying the beauty of God’s creation, they were talking for many hours. At that time, a crab was creeping on the rock and both of them were watching if it could come up before the next wave dashed against the rock. In a few seconds, there was a big wave and water splashed all over the rock. When the wave rolled back, Freddy was surprised to see the crab in the same place. Jacob told him that there was nothing to be surprised. The crab held the rock tightly and so it could not be moved even by a giant wave and was safe in its place. Like this crab, we have the Mighty Rock to hold tightly. In Isaiah 26:4 we see,” Trust in the Lord forever for the Lord, the LORD is the Rock Eternal “. In this life on earth, when trials and tribulations, famine and sickness dash against us like giant waves, we have Christ the Strong Rock Eternal to cling.
” Dear Lord, the Rock of All ages, when I feel insecure owing to the troubles I face, let me cling to You alone and receive the Peace of God that passeth all understanding. In Jesus’Name I pray “.–Amen.

Perfumed Life
In Romania, there is a certain valley where nothing is grown but the roses for the Vienna market, and the perfume of that valley in the time of rose crop is such that if you go into it for a few minutes, wherever you go the rest of the day, people know that you have been there as some of the fragrance of it is carried with you. Indeed, those who love to dwell with Sharon’s Rose, are sure to distill sweet perfume all around. Christ has given Himself for us offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet smelling savour. This fragrance is for us to receive and pass on to others. God is ready to make manifest through us. The savour of His Knowledge in every place we go. No matter how little natural winsomeness and attractiveness we may have, if we abide in the Presence of our Lord, we shall manifest His Beauty and His Fragrance.
‘Dear Lord, let me abide with You always and spread Your sweet fragrance to others. In Jesus’ Name I Pray’. –Amen

Advocatory Prayer
Prayer brings victory and it is quite important for an individual to speak to the Lord daily in prayer. But at the same time it is equally important for us to bear one another’s burden and take it to the Lord in prayer, thus fulfilling the Law of Christ. In California, there is a peculiar tree ” Chikayo “, which grows to a height of 300feet. These trees grow in groups and we can not see an individual tree. Though it grows to a great height, its roots do not go deep but spread widely on the surface of the soil itself to absorb water. When the wind blows heavily, they do not fall as their roots twine and entangle together with the roots of the neighbouring trees and thus grow strongly. In the same way, apart from our individual prayer, praying in groups, support us and give us strength. Before Crucifixion, when Jesus Christ went to pray in Gethsemane, He took with Him Peter, James and John to watch and pray but they had fallen asleep. If Jesus Christ needed the prayers of His disciples, then how much more do we need the supportive prayers of others?
” Dear Lord, let me show love and share the burden, misery and pressure of my neighbours and pray for them and thus fulfill the Law of Christ. In Jesus’Name I pray “.–Amen.

Press on towards the goal
Once, a king who had no issues, was searching for a bold and courageous youth to succeed him. He announced a competition and a person who would win in the competition, would be crowned as the next king. Many young men came to participate in the competition. The old king brought a bucket full of water and the competitor should reach the destination without spilling a single drop. If he spills a single drop, both his hands would be cut off. On hearing this, many people backslided and one brave youth came forward and got the bucket. On his either side two soldiers walked with him with a sword in their hands. He took a step and walked step by step carefully. Huge crowd gathered. On his right side , people encouraged him and wished him to come out successfully. But on his left side some mischievous youth discouraged him, saying that his head would be cut off soon. Without paying heed to anything, he pressed on towards his goal and won the race and was crowned by the king. Then the old king gave him, his sword and told him to cut off those who discouraged him and wish those who encouraged him. But the youth said that he listened to nothing and his whole thought was on water and reaching the destination. In our Christian life journey, our only goal should be getting into Heaven. Let us press toward the mark that is we pursue the whiteline ( Heaven ) in the stadium, upon which all the runners must keep their eyes fixed. Let nothing divert us from reaching that goal.
” Dear Lord, in all my endeavour, let me focus on the goal of Christian life and attain the high calling of God in Christ. In Jesus’Name I pray “.–Amen.
